As we gear up to ignite our Rotary spirit at the Rotary District 5030 Conference in Walla Walla, we’re proud to spotlight We Heart Seattle, a Gold Sponsor whose boots-on-the-ground approach to civic engagement is transforming lives and landscapes across the Emerald City.

A Movement of Action and Compassion

Founded by Andrea Suarez, a Rotarian and recipient of the District 5030 Rotarian of the Year award, We Heart Seattle is a grassroots nonprofit that organizes trash cleanups in public spaces and offers direct outreach to unhoused individuals. Their mission is simple but powerful: make Seattle safer, cleaner, and more compassionate for all.

With over 1.8 million pounds of trash removed from parks and shared spaces, and more than 275 people helped off the streets, their impact is both visible and deeply human. Volunteers and second-chance work teams are at the heart of their success, proving that community pride and ownership can drive real change.

Rotary Partnership and Civic Engagement

We Heart Seattle’s partnership with Rotary is rooted in shared values of service and leadership. Andrea Suarez has been an active participant in Rotary’s RISE leadership development program, contributing to sessions on self-awareness, listening, and servant leadership. Her commitment to “Service Above Self” is evident in every cleanup, outreach effort, and community event.

Their collaboration with Rotary clubs includes joint litter pick events, civic engagement campaigns, and co-hosted fundraisers like “The Big Taste,” which supports local nonprofits including Outdoors for All and the University Sunrise Rotary Foundation.

Supporting the Conference and Beyond

As a Gold Sponsor of the 2026 District Conference, We Heart Seattle is not only investing in the event’s success, they’re investing in the spirit of Rotary itself.

Whether it’s through direct action, leadership development, or community celebration, We Heart Seattle embodies the kind of impact Rotary strives to achieve. Their presence at the conference will remind us that service can be bold, beautiful, and deeply personal.

Let’s celebrate and support We Heart Seattle and the volunteers who make it all possible. Their work is a testament to what happens when we lead with heart, and why Rotary continues to be a force for good. We encourage all to support this great organization at We Heart Seattle.
